Zooz Z-Wave Plus Power Strip ZEN20 800LR Manual (PDF)
ZEN20 Frequently Asked Questions
The Zooz Z-Wave Plus Power Strip is the smartest way to power up your everyday devices, like your laptop, lighting, entertainment, and audio equipment. Remotely check if a device is powered and switch it on or off with your mobile device. Automatically turn on all or one of the the power strip outlets at a specific time every day based on your schedule and needs.
Create events that allow it to communicate with other Z-Wave devices — open the front door, turn off the power strip. Use the built-in timer to automatically turn designated outlets off after a fixed amount of time for added parental control. Monitor power use and optimize energy draw in your home or office.
Be sure to check whether your Z-Wave hub supports the required command classes (please refer to your user manual for specifics).
Plug the power strip into any grounded 110V receptacle. Before connecting any devices, turn the power switch on and make sure the blue LED indicators light up when you click the buttons assigned to each outlet.
Next, include the power strip into your Z-Wave system:
1. Plug the power strip into a grounded 110V receptacle within the range of your Z-Wave network.
2. Put your hub in inclusion mode.
3. Press and release the CH1 power button on the power strip 3 times very quickly.
4. The newly added strip should appear on your controller’s device list.
To exclude the power strip from your network at any time, follow the steps above but with your controller in exclusion mode.
For more instructions on association and advanced software capabilities, please refer to your user manual.
Glad to see them back.
This is my second Zooz Zen20 power strip. I bought the first one to replace a TP-Link Kasa Wi-Fi strip that kept dropping off the network. I've slowly been replacing all my Wi-Fi based IOT devices with Z-wave products from Zooz. I was very impressed with the build quality, and this first strip I bought is a rock-solid performer and has very fast response. Not a single issue. So, I bought this second one and it is also working great. I'll most likely get more of these and toss the old Wi-Fi stuff in the bin. Zooz quality is really top notch.
I have a wonky Dish Joey AP that needs rebooting at least every other day. Otherwise the upstairs TV gets really glitchy. Walk down to the basement, unplug the power from the Joey WAP, wait 10 seconds, plug it back in, walk back upstairs, wait for it all to resync. Every couple of days. Forget that.
When I learned there was such a thing as this power strip, I wanted it yesterday. Of course it was out of stock. They just came back and I immediately bought one. Now that it's in Home Assistant, I have a scheduled job that reboots it in the wee hours every day. If things get glitchy, I can reboot it remotely with a click. I can also see how much power the different bricks that are plugged in are using. Greedy things can be turned off at night or when we leave and save energy.
This thing really is awesome!
I switched over to this Z-Wave power strip from a different brand's wi-fi model, and I was immediately able to notice the difference. The local control means much faster response times when using my app, and I even get power data to boot. Awesome!
I use one to power my Bambu X1C 3D printer, LED lights for it, and a Bento Box (air filter). Using Home Assistant allows me to turn on the Bento Box automatically while printing and 15 minutes after printing has finished. It is also tied to a smoke detector with the ZEN55 smoke detector bridge that will cut power if the smoke detector is activated.
Power monitoring is a bonus.
Was out of stock for a while but worth the wait.
